Looking at flying from Santiago, Chile to L.A. on Avianca. Just a 90 minute connection in Bogota, which is less than I would usually prefer. And there seems to be just 1 Bogota-LAX flight a day if we miss the connection. Cutting it too short?

If you are flying straight through with the one airline there usually isn't a problem with connections as they move your baggage and there are probably a few of you on the flight connecting so they would likely wait if you were only slightly delayed on the first flight. If you check filght numbers you may even find that its a scheduled stop and that you ocntinue on the same aircraft.
www.airlinequality.com might be able to give some insight into on time performance and also what Bogota airport is like for connections.
