Hi,

I need to make a return flight between Santiago and Sydney, Australia and I'm not having much luck comparing flight prices (Lan website is only one I can find so far where you can start the journey in Chile). Any advice on travel agencies online or in Santiago or other websites I could try for this journey or any routes which would make the price cheaper would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey guys, need another second opinion.

I'm going to Chile on the 12th of November for 3 weeks.
Tell me honestly, is it worth going there during that time? What do you think about the weather. ( from your experience )
If you think I should go to Chile some other time, where should I go during that time in South America? Cause my return ticket to Sao Paulo is already issued
( similar amazing view as Southern Patagonian )

Thank you so much!!

Does anybody know some cheap company for flying from Santiago to Lima?
I'm going there in 3 weeks aprox. What about the bus? Is it comfortable? Too hard?

Thanks!

Hi
Im flying from Chile to Sydney at the end of June and was thinking of stopping at easter island.
I was told that I need to book at trip before I go, but it doesnt seem like it reading about other peoples experince.
How many days should I stay? Is 2 days enough?
Can I get accomodation (preferably cheap) and tours when im there?
How much money would I need for tour and accomodation?

Thanks

I have always wanted to travel to Patagonia and am planning a trip this march! I am hoping for some advice from the experts. I only have two weeks and was thinking of spending a week in TDP.... I was thinking perhaps I would fly into Santiago and fly out of Buenos Aries to see both cities. I live in Boston MA USA any suggestions on alternative routes and the best route to TDP from Santiago would be much appreciated. also, how long does it take by bus from Santiago to TDP? if we camp for 7 nights…

I'm trying to find out what the schedule is for buses/shuttles that go from Puerto Montt to Petrohue (specifically, I want to go to the Saltos del Petrohue).

My LP book says that shuttles from Puerto Montt to Petrohue are "frequent" in the summer. However, I will be in Puerto Montt in mid-Nov. Is that considered summer? I will only be in Puerto Montt for about 8 hours, so I need to get this figured out beforehand as much as possible.

Thanks!

Hello,

I was wondering if you trekking-types could tell me if I could get by with hiking shoes instead of full hiking boots in Patagonia? I've hiked with them a lot in Colorado, and would prefer their light weight and airability (less smelly) for my South America trip, since I'll be down there for five months. But, I don't want to end up with ridiculously sore feet and ankles because of them. Anyone have any experience with hiking shoes in the Andes? Did they work?

Thanks,
Sarah

Hi everyone,
I will be staying in Santiago for 3 months, begginning in February next year and I have been looking for a city travel guide for Santiago for months now. The only publications I have been able to locate has been a lonley planet guide published in 2000, and that is avaliable used on Amazon for $51 plus postage and packaging (I live in UK).- Which I thought was a little pricey! So I was wondering if anybody has an idea of where I could get hold of one, or even if any body has a copy…

I have travelled extensively and found that often times you can go on the same tours that you would arrange at home for a fraction of the cost if you arranged them when you get to your destination. We are going to Chile for 3 weeks in January 2008. We are hoping to go horse trekking, take a cruise, whitewater raft, and maybe do some mountain biking and hiking. Does anyone know if it would be easy and cheaper to arrange our adventures when we get there? Or is Chile a place where…
