We'll be in Santiago mid-January after completing a trip to Antarctica and don't want to schlep our cold-weather gear while we tour Chile. Do you have any recommended carriers / luggage-forwarding businesses you've used and recommend? Or do you have other solutions for leaving winter clothes somewhere (left luggage??) so it won't hinder our movements?

A friend and I are going to S. Chile for the first time in late January. We have 2 weeks to travel in the area and wanted to go for a 2 - 4 day trek. Torres del Paine sounds fantastic but very busy at this time of year. Does anyone have recommendations of an equally, or slightly less, fantastic place to hike that might be less busy? A friend and I are in the beginning steps of planning a trekking trip to Patagonia. We want to hike both Torres Del Paine Circuit and Fitz Roy while we are there. My first question is, which do you think we should do first? I was thinking of flying in to Punta Arenas and doing the Torres Del Paine circuit first?

Hi, this is our first post. We are 2 23 year old Engliah girls travelling south america, we will be in either Chile or Argentina for Christmas and New Year and preferably would like to spend Christmas in a different town to New year. We would love to be on the beach/ by a pool for one (or both), but are open to suggestions and also would like a good party hostel or hostel that usually attracts a good crowd for this season.
