howdy,

i will be flying into santiago around december 21st and was planning on spending a little time (no more than a couple days) in the city, and spending most of it either towards the south (near patagonia) or towards the north (near atacama). is anyone else going to be in chile around this time?

also, what would most of you recommend for a week long trip? i'd like to have some variety between the urban and the outdoors (a vineyard and the mountains or glaciers or desert), but realize the difficulty of time constraints in only having a week.

either way, it would be great to hear everyone's thoughts.

thanks!
vikram

It is a good time for Patagonia. First go to Pucon/Villarrica region, then if you have time and want see more, go to Puerto Montt/Puerto Varas region.
