I was looking for a place to do 1/2 or 1 day of rafting. Doesnt have to be anything too thrilling (ie Class 5), but a nice pace is fine but more importantly is beauty. Powder blue water would be great!
A good price wouldnt hurt.
So Puerto Varas or Pucon (or who cares, they are both the same)

if beauty is the most important thing then i would go for puerto varas, all the same activities are generally available in both places (although you may have to go a bit further for them and look a bit harder for them in puerto varas) but the town is beautifully picturesque...but lets face it, that whole region is pretty spectacular. i don´t know anything about rafting though sorry (it was too darn cold when i was there)
