We saw the Anthony Bourdain episode on Chile where he stays at the 5 star Cliffs Preserve by that beautiful beach near Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas. The scenery there was fantastic and we are wondering if there are any other normally-priced alternative lodgings in that immediate area on the coast, as opposed to the high cost of this 5 star resort.
Btw, it appears that the Cliff Preserves property apparently has just stopped taking any future reservations because of its intent to somehow restructure.

Cliffs Preserve is north of Maullin, a very beautiful second best in a similar scenery is the area of Bahia Mansa, Pucatrihue and Maicolpue, at the coast of Osorno, google or wikipedia a bit. obviosly very chaeap lodging and restaurants

Actually there is a small fishing village called Calemapu which you can see on the map on the CP website. It is not exactly the same but not as isolated as CP and plenty of fresh fish. We stayed in some cabins, can't remember the name - something - Verde. Do a search for alojamiento en Calemapu and it should pop up.
