I have always been flooded with folks waiting at the bus terminal to offer accomodations. Select one of them, visit their place and take it or walk away to look at something else that suits you; this is commonly done. Remember to get someone else´s address too. Sorry, do not now e mail addresses.

I can recommend a place to AVOID:
HOSTAL CASA BERTILA
- they changed the price up when we were trying to pay
- the breakfasts were rock hard bread and jam that was a long time past ´best before´ date
- I´m pretty sure they went through my bag when I left it there to do Torres del Paine

I hear Erratic Rock is excellent (www.erraticrock.com) and they have a great free info session on TdP every day at 3pm. We tried to get in there x2 and they were booked out both times.
