Hi All

It is helpful if someone can tell me if I need hiking boots for the tours in Atacama desert- San Pedro?

I am not going up into the mountains and I am not walking on volcanoes. Just doing the easier ones on sand mostly.

Kindly give me some idea...? I thought to take my running shoes and leave my hiking boots at home. I assume there is no rain

Nah, you should be fine, most of the short trips from San P don't involve gnarly stuff, I'd personally take 'hybrid' trainers like Merrell approach shoes etc to make life more comfortable.
