Hi all,

I'm travelling alone around Peru Chile and Argentina for 3 months before I submit to the working life :p. I'm flying from Lima to Rapu Nui (Easter Island) intending to fly out to Santiago after a few days. Is it advisable to get a 4am flight from the Island?

I don't know much about transport there as i was planning on renting a bike and/or walking.

Thanks
Rhea

Have flights from Lima to Easter Island been restarted? Double check because they did exist but were stopped some years ago.

I hope they are - i managed to book the flight on the LAN website so unless it's a complete scan it should be ok right?

The only flights I see connect to another flight in Santiago. It will just take much longer than the old direct flights.

Ah yes sorry that's what I thought you meant - silly me. Yes it's a stopover in Santiago.

But I was wondering if it's a good idea to fly out of Easter island to Santiago on a 4am flight - I.e. Is the airport easy to get to at that time?

Hanga Roa is very small and it would be an easy taxi ride or even walk.

Be careful of the sun if you are walking around the island.

Thanks mott2 - will do so! Could you possible advise me on accommodation? I've heard it's really overpriced but would prefer a room sort of accommodation where I can store my 60l rucksack etc.
