I am heading to TDP in mid To late February but as all the public campsites on the W are all booked until the end of the month, I am looking for alternatives to still see some of highlights. We are a party of 3 carrying all own own gear. We will be travelling by public transport. What is possible to see on day hikes from Camping Los Torres? Is there any way to get to Valle del Frances as a day trip from Pudeto? If we were able to get a campsite at Paine Grande, would it be possible to dayhike to Valle Del Frances and return to Paine or Pudeto? Is it possible to do a shortened W using paid campsites but not those requiring you to pay for full board? Eg. Day 1 Pudeto to Paine Grande Day 2 Paine Grande to Valle del Frances, Camping Frances, day 3 Frances to Los Torres, day 4 day walk to Cerro Torre and return to Los Torres.

Check out refugios - theyre are much more of them on the hike - they may not be booked out yet. I would stay at Grey-Paine Grande-Frances or Cuernos - and then Chileno. Staying at Chileno means your only an 2 hours from the base of Las Torres and not 3-4.
A 'day trip from Pudeto to Valle Frances' I'd put that in the too much and not enough time. Even catching the morning ferry, you have a good 7 hours of hiking. And thats not including stopping. Sure if you did it quickly you could get back in time, but the park is meant to be enjoyed and I wouldn't want to rush going up there.
From Camping Las Torres you can do the hike up to the Mirador Las Torres. Its an 7-8 hour hike to the viewpoint but worth it.
