Hi there!

So I know the circuit trek on the TDP now requires advance reservations for all the campsite. I was curious if people have experienced what happens if you don't show up for one of the CONAF reservations? Or if you can cancel ahead of time?

Not that I mean to not show up or anything, but I'll be in Ushuaia before and I'm trying to see if I can do a last minute trip to Antartica. I'd like to book the camp sites ahead of time, but if I end up taking the cruise, this will throw off my itinerary. Does anyone have an idea what I can do in this case? Or have experience with this? I wouldn't want to make someone else not be able to go...

For more details - I'll be in Ushuaia beginning of March and was originally planning to hike the TDP around March 10th - 17th.

Thanks!

There are no consequences for not showing up to the free CONAF campsites. It would be nice if you could email the CONAF booking page if you know you aren't going to make it. That way someone else can get your slots.

The paid campsites have a cancellation policy in place.

Hi,

Yes, getting the right reservations are a difficulty in Torres del Paine, so I would recommend that you make reservations early as best that you can envision your itinerary. You can easily cancel CONAF reservations by clicking on the link in the confirmation email.

Enjoy !!
