What a whinger... Many places charge locals a lower rate to visit them. It is one of the (few) perks of being a local.

I simply love it when white people talk about being the victims of racial discrimination. It's pure balm to my soul. Now a relatively well off Austrian, well off enough to jet around the globe, moaning about discrimination on the basis that he would be charged a few extra euros to enter a park rises to the heights of comic genius. I doff my hat to the OP, this is satire of an unusually high order for LP.

As I mentioned before, not only Europeans are "foreigners" to Chile, tourists from other Southamerican countries, as well.
There is a separate thread where foreign vistors complain abnout the problems booking flights online eg. with Sky Airlines. On the international website you are required to pay higher fares for the same domestic flight than on the Chilean/Spanish website . The website simply doesn't accept payment with a foreign cc (difference 100 USD OW).
Struggle of classes is a good way to promote tourism..... Of course, a foreign backpacker is an easier target for resentments than the local elites...
In the good old times it was usual to offer to the guest simply the best...... I thought Chile was in a better economic situation than Bolivia, Argentina or Indonesia, so that they had not to use practices like these....

BTW During Pinochet's rule many political refugees from Chile came to Austria and found a new home here. There was no "struggle of classes" between our countries.
I remember a poster in a shop near Putre, informing imigrants about their rights (2010). That's unique and shows that there are no resentements in the population. Maybe, some politicians today have a different agenda....

The only thing annoying about foreign backpackers is that they think they understand Chilean history. Other than that, welcome to Chile. Or as someone used to always say on another forum, "Here, have a grape."

You seem to be equating immigrants, political refugees and tourists. For tourists, all that is required is that you behave yourself, pay what you owe and not burn vast areas of Torres del Paine. Twice. That really pisses us off.

Enjoy your travels wherever you go and whatever you choose to spend. BTW, Sky is a private company and not required by the government to be nice to anyone, not even Chileans.

Actually many Europeans think the same (and there have been many similar discussions in forums about many different countries) because in Europe any price difference according to your origin is a 'discrimination', a serious offence that will bring you to court.
And yes many people from other continents that visit Europe, including Chileans, do profit from our policy.

The common thing is attitude towards foreigners. Too many emotions....
I'm not going to change my mind, because, even as a tourist, I'm a consumer. If a place is friendly and the deal is fair, I have no problems to spend money. I always check if a price is affordable for a local, too. If not, we go elsewhere... We have seen enough, some places are friendly others not....
Quoted airfare: Chileans USD 130.-, foreigners 230, LAN USD 380.- for foreigners. We'll go by bus : $13.300, if they don't invent some special fare in the spot.
The companies won't do this on a large scale, if its prohibited by law, like BR and EU

There are no fares just for Chileans. The cheapest fares are reserved for in country sales although any foreigner can buy them. The problem arises when you try to get those fares and are not buying them locally. Sometimes the sale goes through and you are lucky, sometimes not.

Anyway, this is getting boring and, as you say, you aren't going to change your mind. Adjust your attitude and you will have a lot more fun.

"The fee for foreigners is $ 18.000 chilean pesos (USD $38)"

This topic was posted 9 days ago, according to today's exchange rate, 18000 Chilean Pesos is equivalent to $25.57, did I miss anything?
