Hello
I want to trek the Cerro Torre Circuit in February in a group but go there on my own. Offers from agencies on web seem crazyly high: 2000USD for 10days. Is there good quality for less? Can I book upon arrival or is that too late? I would hope there is many agencies offering services in Puerto Natales but am not sure whether I can rely on getting good quality when I book only after my arrival and start the trek immediately.
Do you know good local agancies and how to contact them?

thanks.

Easy to do on your own. Don´t spend the money. Join other trekkers while trekking. Are you speaking about the circuit in Torres del Paine? Cerro Torre is in El Chalten.

I only know avantour but cannot really recommend them. Ask at Casa Cecilia (a good hostel in Puerto natales). They are very helpful and definatly it is not necesary to go with an agency or a tour

When you get to Puerto Natales drop around to the Erratic Rock hostel, they do a brief everyday at about 3PM. It´s free whether you´re staying in the hostel or not and they will give you all the info about doing the circuit. They will tell you everything you need to know and you´ll meet loads of other people doing the walk so it´s easy to meet up with other people doing it as well. They can book your bus ticket into the park as well. I did the W earlier this year that way. Great experience. You definately don´t need to pay a load of cash to do the walk.
