Í´ll be coming into the Atacama desert straight from the salares in Bolivia....Iknow there´s the desert ofcourse and Moon Valley....how long do i need to spend in San pedro AFTER seeing all the salt flats from Bolivia...? apart from the desert and Moon Valley, and salt flats...are there are other things....like treks not to be missed? (Just trying to figure out how many days i need in San Pedro as I´m trying to arrange a date to meet a friend in peru).

Personally I think after seeing the sights of Salares in Bolivia, geysers, deserts, lakes etc, then there is a lot of similarities with those around San Pedro. But San Pedro is a nice chill out place, tourist friendly, lots of nice restaurants, so probably a couple of days would be OK

Agree with the above, but 2 days would be enough in my opinion

Thanks for the question we are doing the same thing and had the same question. I had been thinking about 2 days as after that we are on a bus to Salta.

2 days should be good....you must see valle de la luna at sunset- if you go with cosmo andino tours (i think that's the name) you get to run barefoot down the sand dunes in valle de la muerte too...so awesome. i went there after going to the geisers in the morning..that was cool cause we got to bathe in natural thermal pools after and went on a beautiful walk along a river in a cactus-filled canyon..it was a really full day, but worth it...
have fun!
