Myself and two friends will be in Manaus at the end of August and we are looking into different amazon tours. I have searched previous posts and can't seem to find anything about Samba Tours, which we are considering (along with Gero tours, which I have heard good things about). Has anyone used the Samba Tours? Are they legit? Any other input would be appreciated! Thanks!!

Split an apartment with a friend or family is less expensive than a hotel. I have just what you need an apartment situated in Copacabana 100m from the beach in a calm street and a calm building. 24h doorman and cameras. Sleeps up to 4. Fan in each room, television, free access to gym in the building and 2 bicycles. For further information please contact me or you can check out www.americojr.com/pacocabana

I am searching for people who have participated on a tour to the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. I am interested in your story, your experiences and motivations.

Hi TTs
I'm going to stay in Fortaleza next week. On hostelworld.com I found a hostel - Backpackers Ceara - but there's not much information on their webpage. Has anyone stayed at this place? Is it safe and to recommend?
Thanks in advance!
Anyone have experience with renewing/extending a Brazilian 5-year tourist visa (which expires in a week) while I'm in the US? (If so, where and how? I can't seem to get through to a person on the phone lines.)
-
BTW: do I have this right: If tomorow, for example, were the last day the visa would be valid, then I must enter Brazil by tomorrow, and can then stay in the country for the next 180 days -- even though the visa will have technically expired?

Thanks for the responses.
Hi I am planning a trip to south America for four months ending in Rio for Carnival and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on somewhere to stay for the week Im there..
