Hi all, been meaning to post this for ages but...
Had a great stay in BestHostel in Santa Teresa/Lapa. Great/beautiful guys looking after the place, fabulous people learning circus skills there were great company too. In Lapa, walk up the famous Selaron steps and turn left, find number 9, ring the doorbell inconspicously marked "Hostel" and you're in.
really really recommend it, it's in Lapa, safe and in the thick of cool Rio.

Hi,
I am coming home from Bangkok mid-december (home is the UK) and I have decided that I will need more travelling!
I can affordably go to the States through Zoom (super cheap) and was going to fly from London to NY and then travel up to Canada and then home.
BUT
I really really really want to see South America (namely Brazil and Peru) (and Cuba but heard they wont let you back into the states if you have been there - is that true?).
How can I get into South America cheaply? I will have about…
Will be flying into Rio at the beginning of Oct and have been told several different versions of what weather to expect. Will be spending approx 90 days in Brazil and understand that the weather gets wetter the higher up you go, but on the coast should we expect it to be warm, sunny or what? Its hard to pack practical clothes when its all a mystery! Also is it better to hang on and get clothes out there because I'm assuming locally made clothes will be purpose made for the cold, wet etc
Any…

Hey all,
In August I will go to Brazil for almost 4 weeks. I will pass Rio, Curitiba, Campo Grande, Salvador and Natal. Is there any possibility to see/swim with dolphins around these areas?
Hiya!
How can I find out which cities in Brazil are the most expensive, and which are the cheapest?
Is Belo Horizonte much cheaper than Rio?
Is Florianopolis as expensive as Sao Paulo?
Does anyone know how much it costs to rent a reasonably well located 1 bedroom apartment in:
Belo Horizonte
Sao Paolo
Florianopolis
Salvador
I really appreciate any help you can give!
My fiance and I are planning to be in Brazil for Carnival next year but are having a tough time deciding which city to spend it in.
The two obvious ones we are trying to decide between are Salvador and Rio. Can anyone provide a comparision between the 2?
Is there another city that provides for a better carnival atmosphere?
Hello!
I am doing a research project here in brazil and need to go to Uberlandia but the youth hostel is full.
Does anyone have some cheap safe accomodation reccomendations or tips in general about the city?
Thanks
Emma
Few more questions re Brazil...
Heading to Brazil for three weeks in August. Just wandering if there are any good tours to the Iguacu falls...we'd like to stay on the Argentinian side as we've heard that the town is nicer than on the Brazilian side. Is this true? Would we be better off doing it independently if we want to do this?
We dont want to spend too much time travelling as we want to chill a bit so need to decide if we want to go north or south of Rio. Heard the weather may be chilly down…
