Hi!

In a few weeks time i'm changing planes in Sao Paulo (GRU). I land at 7am, and depart again at 4pm (so 9 hours; both flights are international). My bags will be checked through, and I don't need a visa. I guess I'll be out of the airport by 8am, and need to be back by 2pm. I guess if you add 60 mins each way for travel time to the city, that leaves me with around 4 useable hours.

I've not been to the city before, but would love a see a little of what it has to offer. Thankfully, the GBP is…

Hi all,

Myself, my husband and our friend are planning on travel this February to Brazil! Excited! We will be in Rio for 4 days for the carnival (and want to see places close by- especially hiking)

After that, we wanted to go up the coast to Bahia and then fly to Iguacu falls- spend time seeing the falls, hiking and then to Sao Paulo- then flying back to Chicago. We will spend 2 to 3 days at Iguacu falls.

We decided to not do Pantalan and Amazon this time, but keep it for some other time-…

Hi,
My husband and I booked a trip to Rio in March before we knew I was pregnant. I will be about 15 weeks but now we are concerned due to the recent CDC warning due to Zika.
A friend of ours recently returned from Rio and said they didn't see any mosquitoes. We don't plan on going into the woods, just enjoying the beach and visiting the CtR statue.
Any suggestions? Anyone out there living or been in Rio lately that can weigh in? We'd still like to go but I want to make an educated decision…

I know that february usually is not a good time to go the Pantanal, but El Nino has changed the weather patterns for large parts of South America this year. Does anybody know of the current Situation in the Pantanal. Is it drier than usual or even more wet?

Hello LP!

This is another "check my itinerary" post for my upcoming trip to Brasil in April. I'm going for roughly 25days (including the flights to and from London) and have done a lot of research and just wanted a pair of experienced eyes on my plan.

I'm flying into Sao Paulo on the 15th and I've then got a flight to Rio on the 18th where I'll meet up with a Brasilian friend. After that, I've nothing booked but want to do all the following:

Rio (for at least 6/7 days but 2 of those can be at…

Highly impressed with their personal service. I traveled with an 82 year old person with mobility issues sometimes requiring a wheelchair. We arrived in Manaus, Brazil onboard Holland America Line m.s. Prisendam and promptly disembarked the ship to begin our 2 day tour with Gero Tours. The cruise was in late November 2015 and the Amazon Tours was in early December 2015. This tour was to take us into the Amazon and stay overnight at one of their Lodges. They picked us up at the Customs House…

I'm headed to Brazil next week and don't have much of an itinerary planned. Flying into Florinopolis and staying for 3 nights then I would like to go to some of the little festivals mentioned in the book. I found the dates/times for the Blumenau Sommerfest, and Pomerode's german festival, but my google-fu doesn't bring anything up for the Grape Festival at Nova Trento. If anyone's been to this or knows of anything else interesting going on between Florinopolis and Rio that would be great. So…

Hi everyone,

I'd love some insight into what the weather tends to be like in Fernando de Noronha towards the end of February. Everywhere I've looked online indicates that this is the start of the rainy season, but I'm hearing conflicting information. How much does it typically rain - all day, or just a few drops for a bit? Is it still a good time for scuba diving and spending time on the beach?

Any insights much appreciated. Thank you.
