Bonito

Hi guys,

I'm heading to South America in August/September and doing the typical thing of trying to whittle down the real must see's, I'm hoping a few of you might be able to help with my longer plans later BUT I've got a quick one for now.

I went to a travel show in London at the weekend and everyone I talked to about Brazil mentioned a place called Bonito, I hadn't heard of it but everyone of them recommended it (and none of them were even selling tours there).

I've done some research into…

Me and my husband are travelling in Brazil for a month. After Salvador and Iguacu falls we stay 6 days in Rio, after which we are planning to visit Ubatuba 1-2 days and Ilha Grande 3-4 days. At first we wanted then to go to Manaus for a Amazon trip, but this seems to be too much, so we'd rather prefer to take it calm and have more time to rest and enjoy beaches, good food and relaxation. Therefore we are considering going to either Caraiva for the rest of the days we stay in Brazil (we take the…

Hello. I have been going around and around trying to plan our vacation, which we are taking in late March/early April, with our 3 kids (twins who are 7 years old and a 13 year old). We fly into and out of Sao Paolo. I am under the impression that we would be fools not to spend some time in Rio, but we would like to spend the bulk of our time in a beach location, exploring the beaches, relaxing with our family, eating good food and enjoying nature. Although it is important that we have the…

Hi, I am piecing together a 16 night itinerary for our trip to Brazil in March and so far have come up with:
Days 1 - 4 Rio (both our inbound and outward flights are GIG)
Days 5 - 7 - Paraty
Days 8 & 9 - Ihla Grande
Day 10 - 14 - Travel to Tiradentes, Ouro Preto
Day 15 - Fly Belo Horizonte - Buzios
Day 16 - Buzios
Day 17 - travel Buzios to GIG to fly home (evening flight)

Our original plan had been to try to get to the Pantanal but having read up on best times to travel there we've ruled it out for…

I crossed the into Brazil overland from Bolivia. The line was long and too forever. Myself and 10 other gringos were waiting in line and had arranged a van to corumba. Our driver talked to the immigration/policy and took our passports and stamped us in but took our entry/exit immigration card we are ment to keep to give to immigration when we depart brazil.

Do I really need one? Other posts from people mostly say they didn't care but some mention a 60 euro fine. Anyone recently dealt with this…

I work remotely as a consultant, and am looking for my next place to stay for a few months. I have a friend in Florianopolis (lagoa da conceição, specifically) who says it's a beautiful place. Lots of beaches, obviously, and surfing, which I enjoy (even though I'm terrible at it!). However, I think he'd tell me anything if it means I'd visit. Anyone with experience in Floripa long term? Is there much to do besides hang out at the beach?

Hi all,

A friend of mine and me plan to travel to Brazil in April (I know it is maybe not the best time because of the rain, but we don’t care).
We already have booked our flights, will arrive in Salvador de Bahia, and return 16 days later from Rio.
So well, we somehow need to do this trip within the time 
We would love to spend lots of time at beaches, some nightlife, lots of nature and some culture, well a good mixture would be perfect.
I heard about places like Morro de Sao Paulo, Itacare…

Hi

Im looking for trustworthy, safe, english speaking driver (with their own car or scooter/motorbike) in Rio de janeiro, can anyone recommend someone please? I will be there for 9 days arriving during carnival and would like to hire them to take me to tourist spots and the like. I did this in Bali a year ago and getting to know a local as well as helping him earn a living was one of the best parts of my trip.

I understand public transport is good, but if i can give some business to a local…
