Hi! Can anyone tell me, if the Slowboat from Manaus to Barcelos or Manaus to Barcalos stops in Novo Arião? Or if it not stops, it there a possibility to get on the boat or its possible to leave the Slowboat in Novo Airao.
A Schedule of the boats would also be great.
Thanks!!!

Hello - I am planning a Brazil trip and need to work in a quick hop...

IlhaGrande-->Ilhabela on a Sunday evening
Ilhabela-->Sao Paulo the next day, Monday evening, to catch a late evening (domestic) flight from GRU

Barring a private car and chauffeur, how can I do this with public transport?

Thanks

I'm traveling to Brazil for about 7 weeks this June/July. I will be working in Manaus for a month and then have a flight to Salvador, with a flight back to the US a week later. It looks like the WC will be done in Salvador by the time I get there. My thought was to spend 1-2 nights in Salvador to check out the city, and then head to Morro de Sao Paulo for the rest of my trip. A few questions as I try to get acclimated:
1. Is that enough time to see Salvador? My thought is that I'd like some…

Can anyone tell me the average length of time it is taking to receive a tourist visa to Brazil for US citizens? I applied for a renewal a month ago and when I check their web site it says "received", but it has not continued to the second step, "processing". I have emailed the consulate in Miami twice and telephoned once with no response yet. I am sure there is a backlog with all of the FIFA visas being processed, but I am rather attached to my passport and want it back. fAny response would…

Can anyone recommend a sociable Hostel in Brasilia ?

I will be there with a friend for the quarter finals of the World Cup in early July and upon a quick search I can't seem to find any hostels at all in Brasillia, Only Hotels.

Can anyone advise? Does Brasillia not have many Hostels?

Hi guys,

Me and two mates (in our 30s) are travelling to Salvador, Brazil for 7 days. We are looking for some advice on what are the must dos in 7 days. From what I hear/read, there is a lot of things to see there.

We are also wondering if there are some other places/towns worth checking out from Salvador? Obviously we are only there for 7 days, so the distance cannot be to great.

Cheers.

Hi all,

I arrive to Brazil very soon and have done little planning (not unusual for me to be honest) but I wanted to have a general outline of an itinerary for Brazil as I know it is huge and one month is really just scraping the surface of a wonderful country.

I start in Sao Paolo and end in Sao Paolo. My dilemma is whether to stick to north or south? I am really interested to go to Salvador de Bahia but also know this is quite a distance from Rio. The general idea I had was 3 days in Sao…

Greetings. Does anyone have a sense of how easy it is to do a self-drive in the Pantanal in the dry season? Can you just show up at a fazenda and expect there to be a room? Could you join a tour going out on the river, or everything is pre-booked and pre-planned by the tour groups at this busy time of year? Are all those wooden bridges cross-able by non 4 WD? We were thinking of doing a 4-5 day tour, then adding on some self-drive time to be able to just sit on the Transpantaniera and watch…

I will be landing at 05.50 on a Saturday in May, and wonder whether I can get to Igazu falls and back by Monday morning (preferably Sunday night).

Would I be best off booking my flight when I land (from Zurich), or beforehand? How long will it take me to clear imigration/customs at Sao Paolo, and would I be travelling from the same airport?

Many thanks in advance.
Helen.
