My wife and I have just finished a week in Salvador for the World Cup and are currently in Lencois, visiting Chapada Diamantina. We fly out of Recife a month from now and are trying to figure out what to do. We're backpacking South America and hadn't planned to come up here though friends had a place to stay in Salvador and the World Cup is the World Cup, so here we are! Does anyone have any idea if it is better to get a Brazilian visa in Buenos Aires or Montevideo?

I guess my main criteria for better is quicker - I had to wait 15 business days in Bogota last year which was a big hassle. So can anybody give me an idea of how long you have to wait in Buenos Aires and/or Montevideo. Or any other suggestions for getting the most hassle free visa for Brazil. (I am Australian.)

I have a plane leaving from Sao Paulo on Sunday, June 25th, at 23:30 at night.
I´ll be in Rio de Janeiro the morning of the 25th. I want to spend as much time as possible in Rio on the 25th, so I want to leave as late as possible.

My question is as follows:
At what time should I leave Rio, by bus, for Guarulhos airport in Sao Paulo, and still be absolutlely sure I will be at GRU by 21:30 (2 hrs before my flight) ?

I am going to Brazil next week and I am wondering whether I should take a brand new Nikon D5200 with me, as the security situation in Brazil seems not to be the best in the world. I like to take pictures and I go to Rio, Salvador, Iguazu and Arrail d'Ajuda. What's your opinion on taking a DLSR camera to these places?

I am looking to spend two months in Brazil starting in January 2015. I've heard great things about WWOOFing and wanted to know if anyone out there has done this in Brazil, where they went and what their experiences were like?

My friend and I are looking for a medium-paced itinerary of must-see's / highlights of Argentina - Uruguay - Brazil.
26 year old females, with a lot of travel-backpacking experience, limited Spanish and zero Portuguese.
