We will be in Rio 12th Feb- 19th Feb for Carnival, and we are slightly confused as to where to go from there. We need to end up at Iguaçu Falls, where we plan on getting a flight to Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

Me and my friend Louise would really appreciate any suggestions you have for how to get from Colombia to Rio on a very tight budget. We are going to Rio for carnival so flights are nearly GBP500! We know that other methods (bus, boat down the amazon?!) might take a long time but we have no choice as we can´t afford the flight.
Rome2Rio says 5 days and that is getting buses via Peru. Is there a more direct way?

We are currently booking a trip to Brazil next year. We will be there for about two and a half weeks.
We have most of our route planned. We do not want to go to the Amazon as we have been there before and have other areas we want to see more.
