Bit of a long shot, but I am just wondering if anybody can offer some advice on purchasing Carnival tickets for Porto Seguro? Is it something you need to book in advance? Or will there be availability when you arrive on the day? Thanks.

I will be leaving Caraíva next week to go to Itacaré and I am trying to get a sense of the public transit situation. I think maybe I have to go to Porto seguro and then on to Itacaré--is that correct, or would there be a faster option? Would that mean I would have to spend a night in Porto Seguro or could I make it in one day? Thanks for any tips, haven't been able to find anything. Muita obrigada!

I have had a Brazil visa for 5 years, it's valid for 10 years I believe. I did not go within the 90 days of its issue..is that a problem? Would like to go in a month with my current visa . Thanks

I reside in Toronto and it seems like they are making it as difficult as possible to get a visa for Brazil. We need full itinerary, including inbound and outbound flight among other things.

Basically originally I was planning to fly into Sao Paulo via one way ticket (cheaper than flying into Rio) Then taking a $50 flight to Rio. From there, after how ever long (1-3 months) I would fly to curitiba, then fly to porto alegre, then I would take a bus from Porto Alegre to Uraguay (montevideo)…

I'll be arriving to Conselheiro Lafaiete, MG, around 4:00AM from Rio de Janeiro. The idea is to wait at the bus station until 6/7AM to take a bus to Congonhas.

My questions are: how safe is to wait at 4:00AM probable alone at the bus station??? Would be any coffe shop open at that tome where I can wait???

If anyone has been around and could answer my questions, I would appreciate.
