Hi there, I am planning to go to the (North) east of Brazil this july/august. I wanna start my trip in Manaus and end it in Salvador. Has someone experience with this trip? Are there places I have to go to for sure and places which are better to skip?
I would LOVE to get some advice!
Thanks in advance!
Hanna

experience with this trip

You make it sound like going from Amsterdam to Den Hague instead of maybe 5000+ kilometers of river, of coastline, or alternatively across inland Brazil. There are many variations on getting from Manaus to Salvador. You need to do some research online and/or with a guidebook or several to identify what interests you. There are national parks, beaches, cities........

How much time do you actually have, exactly?
Are you willing/able to fly? If so, start booking now for best fares.

My main suggestion would be starting the trip somewhat earlier, so as to be in either Parantins or São Luis for the Boi Bumba/Bumba Meu Boi festival.

There are varies routes you can take. And then more diversions within those routes. A good suggestion - grab that guide book and give it a look. See WHERE you actually want to go. Do you want to head along the coast or head through the interior.

Manaus by boat or plane to Belém, buses or flights down the coast would probably suit best. Really there are so many options along that coast it would take a small book to go through them and quite a few folk have already done that.

If you are going to be in the Salvador region in the first half of August, I would strongly recommend making time to visit Cachoeira for the Festa da Boa Morte. It always falls in the first half of the month.

Whose holiday is it? There are no destinations you 'HAVE' to see, save for the ones you want to see. That means doing a little basic research of your own or at the very least giving people an idea of your tastes and interests. Are you hoping that by other people just nominating their own particular choices, you will get any real feel for where you want to go? Maybe you do, maybe you just want a cookie cutter laundry list of places. Google is your friend in that case or maybe try Twit Advisor, where you'll get no end of opinions on places from people who have never been to them.

Personally, I think Fortaleza is as dull as dog shit and somewhat less appealing. Recife is an immeasurably better destination IMO. Your mileage may vary and that's the point, my tastes and interests aren't necessarily yours.

Good luck!

Fine. You want an opinion? Me? I would skip Manaus, Belem and Fortaleza. Does that make decisions easier for you?

Get the da*n guidebook! Tell us what appeals to YOU, and we can help put a reasonable route together for the time you have.

Yeah, Hanna, but don't do it with a$$*#!s like this who just respond to advertise services no one needs.
Hey current alias q....Noticed you finally slipped in a direct link to your own pathetic services under your what....seventh...alias on the other forum. Congrats on being kicked off there so many times and persisting in being an annoyance.
You and your advertising are NOT an asset to this forum. We've recently had our discussion about naive posters, but anyone stupid enough to contact such a poster as this deserves what they get.

Ivan X, repeat spammer and creator of the 'favela train' (TM) to Paripe is here? We are honoured. Business has slacked off post carnaval eh Ivan? Never mind, as you should know it's very much a seasonal affair.
