Hey there, I've decided that a flight might be out of my budget so looking into speedboats from Manaus-> Tabatinga, Tabatinga-> Iquitos. Has anyone done this recently and know a trustworthy company or have any tips on travelling safely? I've read that these boats do exist, but leave once a week with no evidence of what that day might be.
Any information, especially from women would be amazing!
I haven't done this recently so can't give specific information about schedule/prices, but I went with the company AJATO (a couple of years ago now). No safety concerns at all. You do have to head for the docks before dawn so you might want to do better than me and take a taxi straight there, so you're not wandering around the docks in the dark, but otherwise it's simply very safe and straightforward.
