Hello guys,

in the end of our time in Brazil we were planning to go to the Foz de Iguassu. We wanted to visit both sites, brazilian and argentinian. But then we heard about the floddings that happend there a couple of weeks ago. So we are wondering how is the situation there right now? Has anyone been there recently?

Is the whole National Park open again? Is the "Garganta del Diablo" open? Are both, the argentinian and brazilian site open again?

Both sides are open. The Argentine side is mostly open except some sections of the park. The trail to Garganta del Diablo is not open due to the flood damage. And some of the upper falls trail is damaged.

Thank you for this information!

That doesn't sound too bad! I have heard from some people the "Garganta del Diablo" to be their Highlight at Foz de Iguassu and the "very best part of it". So do you think it is worth going there if this one is not open or better keep the Iguassu Falls for another time?

It's a waterfall park where there are tens, or more than 200 drops, depending on how you count. However, Garganta del Diablo is the most powerful one, and It would be a shame not being able to see it.
