Hi guys,
as my flight will arrive in manaus at 1:37 am, my gf and I are planning to spend some hours in the airport.
Is it doable (and safe)?
Thank you very much!
Have a nice day,
Francesco

Sleeping in Airports. It seems to be ok. But, if your planning to go to the Amazon, may as well buck up for a night or two accom in Manaus. I'd rather a bed, then save a few pennies by staying at the airport. Taxis will be there and will no doubt be easy to take to town.

Thanks!
The problem is that my Amazon tour should start at 08:30 am the day after, so I do not know whether it makes sense or not to spend a few hours in a hotel...

Its a bit tricky. GIven you will arrive at 1:37am, it might take you til 2:30am til you get off the plane and baggage. So leaves 6 hours. I'd rather get a few hours good rest, instead of a few hours restful rest in an airport. But thats me, you can choice to do what you like.

The airport is safe enough but not a particularly comfortable one. It's not the busiest airport in the world, so unless you are are arriving on a packed international flight, which are few and far between, I'd doubt collecting baggage and getting out of the terminal would take more than 30-40 minutes, then add another twenty minutes or so in a cab to wherever you are going.
Where is your tour departing from? You might as well get a cheap room. Even the fairly appalling but cheap Dez de Julho opposite the Opera House is going to be a better option to trying to sleep in the airport and it's bound to be closer to your start point for your tour.

Thanks all!
Corisco, I'm exchanging emails with some tour operators and till now, for all, starting is at 8 am from the lobby of own hotel, but as they are very flexible, I think if I asked, they could also move to pick up me from the airport.
I'm looking at your hotel, it might be a good compromise...
