I am desperately trying to book a flight from Natal to Fernando de Noronha at www.voetrip.com.br but when fiiling the registration form I am asked my CPF number (I guess it is Cadastro de Pessoas Fisicas) but I don't have one (or I ignore mine...). In any case I need to book these flights asap and have tried everything so far (TAM's web page is giving no results to my search) unsuccessfully!
Can anyone help me??? How can I book those flights online???
Thanks!
Desperate-Sònia!

Have you tried a fake number? Maybe it accepts. If anyone asks anything when you check-in, you let them know... (actually, the best would be to book through an agent).

Also try www.tam.com.br. Neither TAM nor Gol goes there, but apparently have links with the airline that does. There have been numerous posts regarding buying TAM tickets overseas (some use TAM's Argentine Web site and apparently bought tickets there), so do some searching.

Trip Linhas Aereas is the airline that goes there. Try http://www.airtrip.com.br. Or contact a travel agent in your home country, or when you get to Brazil.

Trip's website is set up for Brazilians only to buy online. CPF is the social security no., no point in trying to use a false one as Trip's system will check it on the Receita Federal's data base. Also they will probably only accept Brazilian issued cards; it's very common in Brazil to pay in instalments, interest free, with a credit card, but Trip may only do this for Brazilian residents. You could try emailing their reservations dept: reserva@voetrip.com.br
Thank you all!
I finally contacted a travel agent's and everything is already set! Hurray!
Why is it non-brazilians cannot book flights online with Trip/TAM??? In Spain (and Europe as far as I know) anybody can do so, no matter the nationality... I'm quite puzzled!
Well... thank you soooooo much guys!
Sònia :)

In Brazil, bureaucracy is high, and concept of customer convenience is low. Concept of safe driving practically non-existent.

Sònia,
While it is true that red tape in Brazil reaches levels unseen elsewhere in the world, the reason why buying tickets from GOL and TAM from abroad is so difficult is quite different. Both companies represent a unusual case worldwide, where a major airline has its own distribution system and is not integrated with Global Distribution Systems. GDSs make it possible for you to buy airline tickets from third parties worldwide. GOL and TAM have a troubled relationship with GDSs (well, they hardly have any relationship at all), hence all the difficulties.
Some GOL and TAM fares are made available to GDS, but the best fares are usually restricted to the companies own (and exclusive) sales channel.
