I went to Iguazu about 10 years ago, and loved the place, but I want to return to buy some statuettes (don't know what else to call them), they are small to medium sized decorative representations of animals (birds, parrots) or other things (flowers, etc.) made of colored crystals. They are similiar to Swarowski crystals which I mention just to give ou an idea of what I am toaking about, but they are not refined or clear cut crystals, rather they are like roughe stone-like crystals and of different colors.

I specifically remember having seen them at the Visitor's Center of the falls on the Brazilian side (Foz de Iguazu), lots of things made out of them. I wonder if anybody has been there in the last year or two and can confirm they still have this type of item, because I would travel there just to buy a few. I would be greatly disappointed if I get there and they don't have them anymore.

Thanks for your help.

If I understand correctly what you are talking about, they are from Minas Gerais where the stones are mined and are found in gift shops in many parts of the country.
