Hi Everyone ..

I will be in Iguaçu in the last week of February to go see the falls. I have a few questions:
1. Please suggest a good place to stay. Budget upto USD 75-100 per night.
2. How do I reach the hotels from the IGU airport? Do we have convenient buses from the airport or do we have to rely on taxis.
3. What are the must do activities at the waterfall? I have 1 full day available and I will be limited to the Brazil side of the falls due to Visa Issues.

Thanks in advance for the suggestions
Runsi

1) Try Hotel del Rey. Basic, comfortable, small pool for after a sweaty day sightseeing, convenient to bus depot to the park, decent breakfast.(not sure of current rates)
2) local bus goes from the small bus depot, passing the airport, and on to the park, and return.
3) Pay the reciprocity fee and do both sides.Make the time, extra day. Argentine side is very different than the Brazilian side. "once in a lifetime" right?
Brazil side: walk the path along the river, play with the coatis, see the bird park near the park entrance, do a boat ride/"Safari" under the falls, take a helicopter ride over the falls
Other: see the Itaipu dam (tours given there)

Right next to the Del Ray is the Taroba. We always stay there. Nice rooftop deck. Both hotels are very close to the downtown urban bus terminal. There is a city bus that leaves from in front of the airport going to the above mentioned terminal throughout the day and into the night. I always agree on a taxi price and then cab it to the Taroba. Less hassle, especially with luggage. Last trip a few months ago was $45 R. There is a small Zoo across from both hotels mentioned. Not bad if you have an hour or so to kill.

I stayed in a place called Concept Hostel. Although billed as a hostel the facilities here are just as good as a hotel and they offer private room. They provide a generous breakfast, wifi, swimming pool and balcony area. It was the best place I have stayed in South America and is so cheap! Check it out and keep it in mind, it really is luxury! Plus it's very close to the bus stop you need yo get yo the falls. Don't worry about not being able to see the Argentinian side, you can still get done amazing photos from the Brazilian side!
