Hello guys,

We are currently in the area of Jericoacoara and we like it very well! The plan is now to go further into the National Park Lencois Maranhenses. We planned the route and local buses to cover as it is described in the Lonely Planet:

  • Bus Jeri to Camocim
  • Bus Camocim to Parnaiba
  • Bus Parnaiba to Paulino Neves
  • spend the night there because there is no transport that runs on the same day
  • The next morning Paulino Neves to Barreinhas

Today I was told in a "Travel Agency" in Jeri, that the connection from Parnaíba to Paulino Neves or more specifically from Tuoia by Paulino Neves doesn't exist any longer.

Has anyone done this route recently and can say something about it? The route Parnaiba - Tutoia finished running just by 2014 . However, I do not trust these travel agents too much as they want to sell their expensive door to door transports obviously. Unfortunately we did not have too much time to ask some more travel agents as we are staying quite a bit away from Jericoacoara and were visiting the town just by a tour.

I would be very grateful for advice!

Regards
Boris

Ask the hostel/hotel you are staying at. They'll give you more up to date information.

I asked the staff in my Pousada, but they don't know anything about that.

There is a woman posting as "ingridjeri", Ingrid Trost the owner of the pousada Jeri AtHome in the village, who has previously posted detailed directions for that journey. Perhaps if you can find her, she might have the updated info you seek.
