Hello I'm going to be in Fortaleza for two weeks for world cup games.

I've not found much info on the net regarding best bars, places to eat in the city and the best places to visit and avoid.

We are stopping near the beach fan zone in what i'm told is a pretty safe area.

Any info on does and dont's in Fortaleza would be much appreaciated, I've been to Rio twice before but know little about this city.

Is there much in the way of english/irish bars or indie clubs? A list of cool cheap places to eat and drink would be great.

Any other fella travelers or locals out there drop me a line ;-)

I'll be in Fortaleza in June for the WC as well (Germany (my team)-Ghana and Greece-Ivory Coast). We'll spend one night in Paracuru which seems to be quite nice (never been to Brazil so far). I would also welcome some advice. So far, I got some infos here: http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/world-cup-travel-fortaleza.1997459/ .

Probably won't find english bars/clubs. There is a 'infamous' area that is the nightlife centre near Praia de Iracema.

2 weeks in Fortaleza is a long time there. I would check out Jericoacoara (much better) and Canoa Quebrada.

Try visiting/downloading Kekanto, a local copy of Yelp.
