Hello,

After replies from the LP communauty on my last question, I decided to go in Campo Grande for the Pantanal tour.

Indeed, I have another question:

How easy it would be to book a tour directly in Campo Grande? Would it be cheaper? We are a party of 3,

Same question for Bonito as we will visit Bonito as well.

Thanks

We went to the Pantanal with Pousada Santa Clara. We booked it when we were in Argentina, visiting the Iguazu Falls. A salesperson from Santa Clara came to our hostel and we decided to go with them. We had a good time and even saw jaguar! It was pretty good value too ... they have an office at Campo Grande bus station and if you turned up there, without a booking, it would be pretty easy to get on a trip. A couple joined our trip that day and had started off by going to a couple of other agencies in town, which also had places on them. So yes I think it would be relatively easy to book directly when you turn up. I guess the question is how much time do you want to go around the agencies once you're in Campo Grande. Here's some more info about our trip:

On Bonito, again you don't need to book your trips before you're there. All the hostels in town can organise them for you and there's no real price differences between different booking agents.

For Bonito, you can just arrive by bus, and set up everything once you get there.

Certainly to visit the Pantanal, you can get a better price by shopping around at different tour agencies in Campo Grande. But you should do some research in advance, and check out the reports online (tripadvisor, etc.) and get some idea what the options are before you go.
