Hi there,
I have been looking for a pousada or hostel with private rooms for the last week in january ,
but have not found what I am looking for on the internet .Is it possible just to walk in and look around uppon arrival? or is Buzios too spread out to walk around?
( which perfectly works on Ilha Grande, even in January)
Are there many pousadas , which are maybe not on the internet?
Can anyone recommend a nice place to stay under US$ 70 ?
Thanks a lot for your advice!

Hey I went to Buzios and well overall very disappointed. There is a small town centre with tourist restaurants and swimwear shops but this is surrounded by a mixture of urban sprawl and rough weedy fields.

I stayed (a few years back) at Pousada Miratlantico. Whilst within Buzios it was a long walk along dark streets (not dangerous) from the town centre. Approx 15 minute walk. I booked ahead and would not have found the place if I had not prebooked. I stayed for 3 nights for R$540 in a basic room (with own bathroom).

To answer your question better... yes Buzios is spread out with hotels everywhere (as in on the beach, in the centre etc). It is not a laid back idle. In January, being school / summer holidays, USD70 would be very basic, I would not expect much to be available.

I went to Paraty the year after and loved it. Still busy but not as much and far superior beaches and history.
