Hi,
If I were to take a bus between sao paolo and rio, how long would it take, how much would it cost, and how expensive would it be?
Is it worth the trouble or should I just fly?
Any advice welcome. :)

Can anyone confirm if this is true about flying b/w sao paolo and rio?:
"You can show up at the airport and get on a flight between the two cities for about $45 one-way. Flights are 15 minutes apart or less and the flight takes 45 minutes."

Depends how much money you got and how much time my friend!
6hours more or less with bus!
but if its only 45yankee is cheap! (im tempted myself) but im keeping in mind getting to and from airports time wise! and check in!
maybe 3hours in total, thats my guess! time wise to fly!

hello folks,
im from Rio so let me see if I can help you guys...
we are having some problems in our airports now, a looong history (strikes, etc), so sometimes you can spend a lot for your flight.
we have many flights from rio to SP and from Sp to Rio everyday. those are really connected cities, specially for business stuff. So, sometimes is easy to take a flight but you pay "businessmen price" = expensive.
check it out in www.voegol.com.br or www.voebra.com.br ou www.tam.com.br the flight takes 45min max.
by bus, is safe and they also have many trips per day. it takes +- 6 hours, and you can travel by night.
good luck! (write me back if you want)
best,
Raquel

One thing you should factor in to any proposed trip is the cost( and sometimes time) spent getting fro the airport to your ultimate destination. If you cab it to and from the airport it can end up being as expensive as the flight, especially if you do so at both ends. In addition, as has been pointed out the airports are bloody hopeless at present.
