Hello

I was just wondering on the money i will need to budget for Brazil. How expensive is compared to thailand? Will it be possible for myself and a friend to share a room, or will it be necessery to stay in hostal style accomodation? I would like to spend around 8-10 uk pounds per night on accomodation

Most people don't need that much for accomodation in Brasil, especially if you're going to share a room with others. Even in Rio you can get a bed for less in one of those 'hostels', which are rediculously expensive. Once away from the southern cities or beach resorts you can live on 10 pounds a day, everything covered!

double rooms in brazil range quite a bit. in rio in ipanema, one of the most expensive places, it can be about 150reals for a double room in a hostel, but other places it will be 40-50 reals. dorm rooms usually cost over 20reals per night/person.
