Not long to go and my mate and i will be heading into Brazil. Can anyone suggest any good companies to see the amazon with from manaus please? We hear that this is the best place to visit the amazon from so will be heading there but don´t yet know ´who to go with once we get there.
We´re outdoorsy type guys who don´t mind roughing it to see the less touristy type areas, we want to feel like we´ve been to the real Amazon so to speak.
Any suggestions anyone has would be great - thanks!!

if you like roughing it, then i suggest the kayaking tour with amazon mystery tours. you'll sleep in a hammock under a mosquito net, use the woods as your toilet, and the river as your water source and bathtub, but it's amazing. i did a 6 day kayaking tour with them and for 3 days we didn't see any other humans. the rest of the time we would see a farm or two a day and that was about it.
they had great guides and i highly recommend them, but it's not a budget type trip. good luck and don't expect to see alot of animals or you'll be destined for disappointment.
