Hi all,
Upon recommendation I used sky scanner to see if it would be reasonable to buy tickets before I fly to Sao Paolo from the US.

Currently for the month of May 2016, I have SP to Manaus $100 one way May 31. SP to BsAs round trip $290 May 16-20 and SP to Rio round trip $73 May22 to 24th.

Are these considered reasonably prices or do you LP Brasil experts feel I could get even cheaper buying online once I get to SP which would be around May 13th given that my first leg is on May 16th to BsAs.

Please advise . . . Many thanks

Gol have the SP-Manaus somewhat chepaer for your date at $82 USD but that's a fair price, it can be significantly more than that. Flight is ex Guarulhos.

The best price on Gol for São Paulo to Rio, round trip 22-24 May was about $45 USD. Those were ex Guarulhos flying in to Santos Dumont. Can't be bothered checking the other fare.

So yes, you can get better prices but those tend to be promotional fares, direct with the airline and you would be better purchasing them now rather than attempting to do so when you arrive. haven't done the comparisons with TAM, Azul etc.

Please quote in the currency of Brazil, the real (despite what you may be paying in).
The exchange rate changes over time, so I myself tend to remember what prices over the years are/were/ have been in reais, not the dollar equivalent.

Airfare in Brazil goes up the closer to the departure date.

Those fares seem reasonable. Buy now online in advance, just tell your credit card company so it does not block your card.

Oh and when looking at fares for Rio use SDU and for SP use CGH, for BsAs use AEP if these routes are available, much more convenient to use the city centre airports.
