Hello guys,

in a few days we are heading in the Chapada Diamantina! After the Lencois Maranhenses National Park near Sao Luis was absolutely mindblowing, we are looking forward to go to the next great National Park in Brazil. We will stay there for 5 days and would like to ask you for your highlights and hiking recommendations.
What are the highlights that we should not miss? Which route(s) should we hike in any case?

We have also heard Lencois to be a pretty touristy town and there are supposed to be towns with less tourists where we could head to as the starting point for our hikes. Which town would you recommend? Are there buses, vans, jeeps or any other public transport that links Lencois with the other places?

Also we have been told that there are numerous hikes in the National Park that you could do on your own. People told us it is possible to hike from one Pousada to anothert and ask then for directions to the next one. Is it that easy? Does anyone has any experience with it? Which Pousada would be a good option to hike to first?

We would like to do one or multiple multiday hikes. Is there a route you could/would recommend?

Looking forward to your replys!

Greets!
Boris
