Hello, a middle-aged friend of mine is traveling to Bolivia. He is looking for a travel buddy or local person to show them around. Do you know of any free websites where people can connect with locals?
Hi,
I will be travelling in Peru and Bolivia in late August-early September, and would like to end my trip with a tour of the Salar de Uyuni. Having read the LP guide, it seems by far the most common option is either to do a 3 day-2 night round-trip tour, or to do a one-way tour that ends in San Pedro de Atacama. I need to finish the tour in Uyuni to go back to La Paz and home - do I need to stick to a 3d-2n tour, or are shorter options like 2d-1n readily available? If there is a shorter…
Hello,
Me and a friend of mine wanted to travel from Potosí to Uyuni and end in San Pedro de Atacama starting from 21th August (we have good hopes that everything turned back to normal in Potosí by then). The plan was to take a tour in Uyuni that takes us in something like 2 to 4 days across the salt flats to the Chilean border from where we take another bus to San Pedro. Is it adviseable to book in advance, or is it better to look at the tour offer when we are in Potosí/Uyuni? Or does anybody…
Hello from Sucre
Im about to travel to La Paz and were hoping to get some more advise;)
Any recommended hostels for La Paz- except the big party hostels?
Once I arrive in copacabana can I go right away to Isla de sol or is a pre night in copa recommended?
After copa I would like to travel to colca canyon in Peru, is a tour really the best solution or could I arrange that trip myself too- if so,how? I am really stuck here!
I assume there are regular busses going to Arequipa from Colca Canyon?
…
Talks in La Paz between leaders of the protesters from Potosi and Government broke down today.
Acrimoniously.
The blockade of the city of Potosi seems likely to continue for a while yet.
My husband is going to be in Bolivia next week for a 10 day mountain climbing trip. The outfitter says the group is staying at the hostal Posada de Franco in La Paz. It is near Illampu and Sagarnaga. My husband is arriving a few days early and wanted to book a room there in advance of the arrival of the rest of the group.
I can't find anything at all on the internet about this place. Have you heard of it? Do you have any contact info? Any suggestions?
Does anyone know how to get from Sucre to Tupiza, avoiding Potosi? Things seem pretty messed up overthere.
We already had to cancel Samaipata and Amborro NP because of landslides. Travelling Bolivia takes quite some improvising.
Hi all,
We're going to be heading to Rurre mid-August for the end of our time in Bolivia, likely flying in from La Paz.
As we don't know the exact dates, it's hard to think about booking or choosing a good jungle (and pampas) excursion. Should we look to book as soon as we get to La Paz? Do the "better" operators (Bara, Madidi, Berraco del Madidi, etc.) sell out a lot in the tourist season?
Another challenge: any interesting strategies to get from Rurrenabaque to either Sao Paulo or Rio…
We are a couple travelling from Puno to Copacabana next aug. 23rd. The bus arrives in Copa around 11,00 - 12,00 am and in the same day we would like to visit Isla del Sol (at least a part of it) and be back in Copa for the night: is that possible in a half day? Is there a regular speedy boat service (Hydrofoil?) Copa to Yumani so we don't have to spend a lot of time for the crossing? Thank you.
