Does anyone know the dates?
Thnx
I´ll be visiting Bolivia for about a month and will be flying in and out of La Paz. Has anyone got any suggestions of a route to take so as not to miss anything.
Cheers
Will be in Lima in December and would like to spend a couple of weeks in BO, but don't want to be first in line to hassle with (or bribe) the authorities at the border crossing over the new visa requirements for USA citizens. At the same time, I not exactly comfortable with the thought of mailing my passport to the BO Embassy in DC to apply for the visa ahead of time, especially if those folks haven't had experience with this sort of thing before.
The quandary is that I'd like to book the…
It's raining, Thursday, me and the missus have been drinking wine, should we go out or just lay here typing rubbish on TT? Thank you.

Hi there,
Has anyone taken the wara wara del sur train from Oruro to Uyuni.
As far as i´m aware of the Expresso del Sur leaves on Tuesdays and Fridays and the wara wara Wednesday and Sunday. Is this right?
I think my time frame means i may have to take the Wara Wara.
I read on another website that wara wara was a bit dodgy, does anyone have any experience of this?
Thanks
Hey all, I searched a bit but didn't get many specifics. I would like to know what clothing is essential for travelling through Bolivia and Peru during the rainy season. I will not be going to the jungle, so no worries about that. As far as trekking and city wear, what do you guys suggest?
As for what I have:
1) A great pair of water proof hiking boots by Vasque
2) A great thin rain jacket (shell) by Columbia
3) Thermal tops and bottoms
I was thinking of getting an outer shell of rain pants just to…

I'm going to Peru this summer, including the Lake Titicaca area. I had initially hoped to run across the border to check out the Bolivian side as well, but just saw that Americans are now charged a $100 visa fee to enter Bolivia! I've already been to Bolivia and wouldn't go deeper into the country, so I'd essentially be paying the $100 just to spend a couple days on Isla del Sol. Is it that amazing or different from the Peruvian side that it's worth the money? I don't want to regret not doing…
Many threads and posts here on the Thorn Tree deal with mistakes in the Lonely Planet's Bolivia guide, 6th Edition / April 2007.
The mistakes in many details are disappointing. But still, you are better off with the guide than without.
What counts about errors is the follow-up. The 'silence' from the editors and the LP staff is disappointing.
Half a year ago I wrote a post here in the Bolivia Forum about LP's Downloadable Chapters. Shortly afterwards 'chiefnugt' posted "Tom from LP here ..", giving…
Hi,
I was just wondering whether it was worthwhile staying the night on Isla Del Sol? Do you see most of the island on a day trip?
Also if i do stay the night on Isla Del Sol is it possible to get to La Paz the following day? What time do boats leave the island?
I have 5 days to get from Cusco to La Paz and was wondering how this sounds as an itinerary?
Day 1 - Bus from Cusco to Puno and stay night in Puno
Day 2 - Visit floating islands and Taquile - stay in Puno
Day 3 - Go to Copacabana and stay the…
