Hey,
I got information that they are going to require VISAS for US Citizens and I was wondering if anybody has any idea if we will be able to get them at the point of entry. We leave in 15 days and there is not much time of us to get stuff the consulates here in the USA. this is nuts.
If someone knows (didn't see it in the market) where in Potosi I can get a USB card reader that can handle Sony's proprietary memory sticks (curse them for that), I can post some of my photos and videos of the Sucre riots.
Thx
Hi there,
We have 4 days to visit the jungle or Pampas from Rurrenbaque. We would really like to see both but are short of time.
My question is:
Would it be possible to a 2 day jungle and 2 day Pampas tour? Are there companies that would combine both or would we have to do them seperately?
Thanks for your help with this
I´m in Potosi at the moment and hearing a lot of travellers telling tales of riots and tear gas and curfews and blocades in Sucre... I´ve been warned not to go, but I don´t know how much I should trust the second hand gossip of tourists, and I am supposed to arrive tomorrow to study at a language school there for a week. Is anyone there at the moment who can confirm or deny the rumours?
Hi everyone,
so I've been told earlier in this forum that the bus from arica to la paz is not bad and on top of that has a pretty few, but does anyone know how frequently it runs?
I'm in Chile and will probably be flying into arica from santiago. I then have a unfortunately short amount of time to see the country.
My other option is to fly to calama, see San Pedro and enter the country from Uyuni and travel around the south a little bit, but I'd have to make it back to Calama for my return…
I am in Bolivia and we are on our way to Brasil. We are planning on doing a Pantanal excursion through Corumba on Brasil side but recently heard information that we could do the pantanal from Quijarro on Bolivia side. Does anyone have information on which may be better or a better bargain. Would we see as much on Bolivia side.
Thanks for your help
On Nov. 20th I tried 3 times at 3 different ATMs to withdraw 650 bolivianos. The first two got my pin # and then spit out my card saying the transaction could not be completed. The 3rd time I got cash.
Looked at my bank account today and the money was debited from my account 3 times. Not sure if I will be able to get it back. I will just consider myself lucky that it was only 1300 bolivianos that was stolen.
Be careful with ATMs.
just FYI, 100% of places that say they offer a WIFI connection so far in bolivia are full of crap. do not do what i did 3 times so far and pay double what you would usually pay so you can spend a day online catching up with bank accounts, email, blog, etc. very frustrating. most places have an ancient workstation with a dial up speed connection. thats what i get for being in bolivia though, i know.
