how is uyuni in december? I read in the LP guide, you can only drive in 10 miles as the water or salt is melting(?) is this accurate?
im guessing if you go in early dec or mid dec, it will still be ok and the guidebook is referring more to late december? can anyone who:s been there advise? thanks to all in advance.
It's usually okay in December. Some areas might be off limits if there are heavy rains, but this tends to happen later in the season.
I'm wondering the same. I'm planning on visiting in January, but I hear that's when the salt flats flood. It looks amazing in pictures, but I imagine that means the tours are much shorter since you can't drive as far in. Has anyone visited the salt flats during the rainy season? If so, would you recommend it?
