has anyone out there done a pampas tour that doesnt involve the guide catching the animals? we want to go into the area, hopefully see some animals, and soak up the place. but i only want to see them if they happen to be around, not touch them or support them being molested.
cheers.

Hi,

well, it was two years ago, but we travelled with Bala Tours (both La Pampa & La Selva).
They were absolutely respectfull of the environment and did not touch the animals. We did not see any Anaconda, whereas in other tours they touch them, but I prefer it that way ... The guide was extremely knowledgeable, so after La Selva we strongly insist to have him again for La Pampa, which we did not regret.

But: they are much, much more expensive. Two years ago, the price difference in La Selva was definitely justified (higher level of comfort), in La Pampa absolutely not.

Cheers
Gilles
