Just checking if anyone has local knowledge about this. All of Bolivia below 8,000 ft. is said to be a to risk for malaria, but LP suggests that Corioco is malaria free. Is Leishemisis also a concern there?
Thx mucho

There is no malaria in Coroico, as the malaria mosquito simply doesn't live in those parts. Even in Rurrenabaque, more to the north and in the real Amazon malaria is quite rare. If any, cases of infected tourists are extremely rare.
After having lived in Coroico for a year, I've never seen any case of Leishmaniasis, nor did I ever hear talk about it. It might be out there on 'the real countryside', but not close to the "Yungas metropolis" (wink wink) of Coroico.
There are two risks in Coroico: that you'd never want to leave; and the little yellow flies that leave itchy bites (and are only repelled by very strong repellant)

Leishmaniasis is more common in the South Yungas, but does occur in the North Yungas. There have been cases as close to Coroico as Sta. Barbara as I recall. That person contracted it while working further into the lowlands and returned with it. I've worked with doctors in the Leishmaniasis program at the Hospital in Chulumani. The disease is disfiguring, so people who have it tend to stay out of public sight.
