Hi all,
I will arrive in la Paz form Lima at 1.30 a.m. My concern is that I do not know if there will be taxis outside the airport and in the case that I could take a taxi I don't know if it will be reliable or not. As I have heard that there have been some safety problems in La Paz and surroundings (specially in el Alto) I don't know if it is a good idea.
What I have thought is to stay in a hotel with pick-up service airport-hotel (even if it is more expensive than usual, but safety is safety). Do you have any ideas of a hotel with this service?
Taking a radio taxi at that time make me feel a little bit uncomfortable...

there is a safe and reliable taxi service at the airport that you can and should use. It will cost 60 bols to the center of town. If you choose to use an airport pickup service from a hotel a radio taxi will be picking you up anyway as they are contracted to hotels to offer this service. Either of these options will be fine.
Do not walk out of the airport into El Alto to get a taxi - but you seem to know this already.
Do book a a hotel in advance though as you do not want to be searching round for a room at that time in the morning
