Hi,

Im interested in doing a jungle trip from La Paz and was wondering if anybody would recommend a good company to go with.

Do the flights to Rurre be included in the packages and how much notice do you need before you go, i.e can you book a tour that leaves the next day.

Thanks for your help

Hi,

I would not book a jungle trip when in La Paz. You will save alot of time and problems doing it in Rurre instead.

I booked my flights in La Paz (about $160US return from memory) and then when arriving in Rurre, booked a 3 day, 2 night jungle trip for US$30. Stupidly cheap, and brilliant. Just barter and haggle with the offices, and you will get a great deal. I think most of the companies are a much of a muchness, and I cant remember who i went with sorry, but just wander down the main road and you will find a tour in an hour or so. We arrived at about 4pm, and were booked in and ready to go for the next morning.

Good luck.

Yes, you can easily book a tour in Rurrenabaque for the next day. The problem is to get a flight that is not delayed or cancelled. But Rurre and the jungle are worth the trouble.

Today the search function here in the Thorn Tree doesn't work. Otherwise I would say that tours from Rurre and flights to Rurre are FAQ #1.
I hope the search function will soon be back, and then you can search for:
Rurrenabaque tour
Or: Rurrenabaque jungle tour
Rurrenabaque flight

Instead of the Thorn Tree search you can use Googles 'Advanced Search' with the Domain (Only return results from the site or domain): http://thorntree.lonelyplanet.com<BR><BR>The latest thread about Rurre jungle tour is: "Rurrenabaque Tour Company Details" from 17 Nov 2007.

In addition to guidebooks you can find information about Rurre and surroundings at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rurrenabaque and wikitravel.org/en/Rurrenabaque
