I´m in Bolivia at the moment and planning to head to Sucre from Uyuni at the weekend... hearing a bit about disruptions on the road between Potosi and Sucre... anyone got any up-to-date info? One bus company I talked to is only going to Potosi, the others say there´s no problem getting to Sucre... Really hoping to avoid any strikes/blockades if I can at all!

Thanks for info!

I've been dealing with the same issue, sort of. I'm trying to head from Sucre to Potosi, and then on to Uyuni all by bus. But roadblocks have become an issue My friends are trying to go today from Sucre to Potosi. I'm waiting to hear back from them to see what the deal is. Hopefully this won't last too much longer. I'd love to hear any updates as well.

Hi there!
My friend and I got the same problem. We wanted to go this day, but there are two roadblocks (the bolivian specialist tolf us that). There are currently no busses driving to potosi nor uyuni. The only solution is to take a private car (around 709 bol p.p). Very expensive, and till sunday there arent flights either.

If your friends passed the blockade well, could you send me a massage? Or perhaps travelling -and sharing a cab- is a solution?
Regards

Cool, let me know what you find out. I'd be willing to ride share together to get to Potosi. If I had known it was going to be this much trouble to see a mine shaft, I would have skipped it all together. Oh well, live and learn

Haha thats true. In which hostel are you? We're skipping the mines. Want to go directly to uyuni. Have you heard anything from your friends? They took a cab?

Btw im heading back to the touroperator!!!!---One thing I found out in Bolivia is to NOT believe any tour operator. Was told several times by tour operators that only expensive buses were available but by walking to bus stations I found many options for cheaper buses at different times.

Go to bus terminal yourself to confirm availability of buses!

Have heard from two friends who tried to go to Sucre from Uyuni on Wednesday that they got as far as Potosi and couldn´t get further. There´s one bus company in Uyuni that says they´re still going to Sucre tomorrow morning, so we´ll see.

If I get there I´ll pass on any useful info!
