I will be arriving from Dulles via Bogota, at 3:45 in the morning on Avianca. Approximately how long will it take to get through customs and immigration?

I will be booking an onward flight to Sucre for 8 AM on BOA, is there anything open to get something to eat or coffee at that time in the morning? I will have plenty of time to kill....

I cleared customs and immigration in about 20 minutes when I came through around that same time.

There are a few coffee and light fare places open in the airport well before 8, if my memory serves.

yeah 20 mins or less or prob the norm for clearing customs etc, There are places to get food as 1. mentions although not too many. There is a Subway in the airport although im unsure if it is open at that time it might be, but there are some other places also.

It will depend. Only a few weeks ago the Bolivian customs service (Aduanas) announced that they will be increasing their controls on luggage travelers bring with them, in order to oblige travelers to 'nationalize' (read: pay taxes on) any new valuables (from dolls to clothes to cell phones and laptops) that aren't for personal use.

If these controls are put into place one of these days, then the lines at customs obviously will get a lot longer.

Thank you. I booked my onward flight on BOA, leaves at 8:10. Gives me four hours to kill.
