I am reaching the end of my trip and am really running out of money, im visiting a friend in sao paulo before flying home from Rio. I wanted to know if anyone knows which the cheapest method to get there is, because flying is around 2000 bolivianos and i wondered if there were bus or train options, or if flying from another city is cheaper? can anyone give me advice on getting from santa cruz to sao paulo on a budget? many many thanks!

Bus or train to Corumbá, flight from there? Typically domestic flights in Brazil work out as cheap or cheaper than long distance buses.

Above correct. Bus or train to the Brazil border at Corumba, then fly to Sao Paulo from there. For the best price, book the plane in advance.

Agree with above poster as I've done this myself to save cash. If there are no good deals from Corumba you could try Campo Grande, a 5 hour bus trip away. Search all available Brazillian airlines for the best price.

I'm going the oposite direction sao paolo-santa cruz and after comparing prices for the bus (not so cheap in brasil!) eventually i booked flight sao paolo-santa cruz with stop in asuncion for £100/person.maybe bus will be cheaper but not sure if a lot.
