We are in La Paz at te moment. We went to Copacabana before coming to La Paz (and Peru before that).
We still have 15 days left. We want to do a 4 day Uyuni tour. What's the best place to start this tour? From La Paz, Uyuni, Sucre, potosi or tupiza? We heard good things about starting the tour in Tupiza. So take the bus from La Paz to Tupiza and arrange the the tour there. Would that be a good idea?

After the Uyuni tour we want to go to Sucre, Potosi and we're flying back from Santa Cruz.

My guess is that most people would book the tour from La Paz. Do the Uyuni tour and then they drop of at the location they like.
Any suggestions? Many thanks!

Tim

I started mine in Tupiza, went through Tupiza Tours. They have a La Paz office, so I booked a 4-day from there (I only had 7 days left) and then then took an overnight bus to Tupiza. I ended in Uyuni and took an overnight bus back to La Paz. Tour was awesome - great English speaking guide, great food, beautiful scenery.

Thanks! Sounds good!
We just bought a bus ticket with Panamericana from La Paz to Tupiza. We're leaving the day after tomorrow.
Tomorrow we're gone do the death road! Looking forward to that.

Thanks again.

We checked out prices of Salt Flat tour in La Paz, but didnt book, but then arrived in Uyuni late at night on Train and was inundated with offers of 3 and 4 day tours, and then next morning when wandering around the one-horse town, buying nibbles and drinks for our tour, had many more offers from companies. I cant recall prices, but the prices in Uyuni were cheaper than those on offer at La Paz. With our tour, we ended up in San Pedro as we were heading to Chile. Tour was one of the amazing highlights of SA

In Uyuni you should easily find a 3 day tour for 650 Bolivianos.
